Ganglions are cysts filled with fluid that comes from a joint or tendon sheath. It is not uncommon for these lumps to change size; sometimes they will even spontaneously disappear.They can cause pain and limitation of motion.Aspiration and injection of steroid may be helpful. If the lump is bothersome, painful, or affects hand function then surgery may be indicated.
