Dr. Yafa Wiesman (DPT) is the Supervisor of the Physical Therapy Department at Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Centers. Dr. Wiesman attended the University of Wisconsin Madison where she received a bachelor of science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the Chicago Medical School (Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences). Dr. Wiesman is a licensed therapist in the state of Illinois and has over 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics. She has extensive experience in rehabilitation of sport related injuries, work related injuries, orthopaedic trauma, surgical rehabilitation, non-operative orthopaedic care, back and neck pain, hand injuries, foot and ankle injuries, elbow injuries, shoulder injuries, and joint replacement and reconstruction.
Dr. Wiesman oversees the care of all our physical therapists and physical therapy assistants. She works together with our orthopaedic surgeons to develop and implement our accelerated physical therapy protocols. Yafa utilizes the many modern techniques for joint mobilization, taping techniques, and manipulation for musculoskeletal imbalances and dysfunction.
Dr. Wiesman’s knowledge and experience makes her a valued component of our orthopaedic team. Her commitment to quality and the well-being of all her patients leads to the excellent outcomes in her patients. In her free time, Dr. Wiesman enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle by running regularly and has participated in numerous marathons.
